Lowkey wished u didnt crop it tho uwu
But it looks really good and true
Day 11 - Animals - Wolf (Otoyemagatari)
Well not bad colour picks but that's about it tbh.
I'll join in if i get some extra free time, my current free time is just spend on relaxing from all the week and not so much to participate in something.
Dunno what the original panel looked like, but i must say that i am really liking the colours there.
And what made me a good view is that the flowers and light frm above is being reflected nicely on his hair and few parts.
I have a lot to pick on this in ways it could be better, but I really like this, tbh. Color choice is good (mostly), you did very nice cleaning up and coloring above the panel, and you have a good amount of shading on.
in areas it could be improved... While the white is typically blue, that's because it reflects from the sky (and if it's inside, the light has a blue tint). Here everything around her is red from blood, so instead of that blue-ish tint, it'd probably work better if you went with something warmer like a very light unsaturated yellow/orange for the tint. Same goes for the leaves, they work fine for the contrast, but in a realistic setting, it would never be that green when everything around it is reddish/grey. That would be easily fixable with a quick hue&saturation adjustment, sliding the saturation down a tad and the hue slider closer to yellow.
On shading, I like your new smudge brush uwu. The blending is really good, but places where you shaded not so much. I don't feel like there's a clear light source dictating the shading(although most of it looks like it's from the top, it's not consistent), so it looks like you kinda just did whatever. Also, your hair brushing is kinda awkward looking, her head is round so those straight lines on top of her head don't make much sense.
What's easier to comment on is your lack of cast shadows (which is the shadow objects cause on each-other, kinda like the one you have in the leaf on her face). This is usually a hard-edge shadow, and missing in places like her foot, beneath the dress on her legs, beneath her body on her dress, beneath her upper body on that white thing, or beneath her hair on her face.
I wouldn't expect much from effects usually, but I'm glad you at least blurred some of the leaves, it looks good You could probably try to enhance the movement effect more if you added movement blur to the edges of her dress, but it's just something extra. Overall, like a 8.5/10 in terms of your usual works
I like this too ;o The shading areas are awesome, and you pulled off the vehicle feel of it nicely, in the way that the different parts stick out. It would definitely use a little more contrast though. The shadows that are beneath it, where no light touches, should be much darker than the ones created by the car's form or other ones. Like 2/3 shades darker probably. The color choice is pretty good but kinda limited. Almost looks like there one base color, one shadowing color, and one highlight and they were all picked in very neighboring hues. Especially in things where it's just one big object you have to color, the difference in hues shows a lot, so you should've tried to pick a much higher variety of purples and greens and colors in between so it's more 'interesting' to look at. The lights behind it also don't look like lights at all, just different colors I know of your hate for layer modes or effects, but would've helped to make them fit in the picture more through light purple and green overlay layers respectively as a highlight color to show that it's more glow-y than the rest. Background is kinda boring, but it's alright for a daily challenge thing. Texture definitely doesn't look like metal. Probably because you made the shading too soft and blended when metal catches light in harder edges most of the time
this is.. kinda weird
The fur texture looks awkward, and you didn't really follow any anatomy rules for shadowing. Would've probably looked better if you skipped trying to do fur and just focused on reference pictures for what wolves look like so you could do the shading for it. Also, in areas where light is blocked by his "bigger" fur, like the one that's drawn out, you should've shaded beneath it probably. It's the cast shadow problem I mentioned before I guess. Props for the iciness feel though, that looks pleasant.
Oo Thanks Evil! That's a lot of cnc haha Are you joining later? Would be nice to see your colos again
Day 8 - Dance
The only one I could actually 'finish' rn Zzz Didn't really care about the result so just tried to practice shading /w overlay layers
Probably took somewhere less than 40 minutes
Day 5. Rain
Probably more than 2h~ but I wanted to do this panel justice.

I really like the stark contrast between the blood and the eye globe here, even though it’s not entirely realistic it catches the attention and gives off a feeling of horror and despair.
Nice overall especially the fact that you used the same palette for the BG and the windows, shows that they reflect the background light ^^
For metal I'd suggest adding very bright small-scale features, as if the metallic surface was reflecting a light source. Metal usually reflects light in a rather direct way so a light object reflected on the surface won't appear very blurry.
